Both Catalog 1 and Catalog 2 in perfect condition. Both books are extremely rare. Very few of each were produced. They were sold ton interested partys for a brief period before each auction but were mostly given away to high end potential bidders of the auction. Almost impossible to find on the open market.
Propworx, Inc. was an auction house specializing in the sale of science fiction memorabilia, run by Alec Peters, a noted American memorabilia collector of the genre.
Propworx was founded in in 2008 when Peters was given the exclusive rights to facilitate the sale of the production assets of the Battlestar Galactica franchise. The two auctions held in 2009 were well received and Propworx was later commissioned to facilitate the sales of other genre franchises such as Caprica, Iron Man, and Stargate.
Propworx, later handled the sale of the larger set pieces of the defunct Las Vegas Star Trek: The Experience exhibition in April 2010. This was a prelude to Propworx' first specialised Star Trek auction.
In August of 2012 Propworx announced via the RPF that it was closing its doors and subsequently filed for bankruptcy.
As with the last catalog, outside of the auction event itself, these books serve as excellent keepsakes for Battlestar Galactica fans, and serve as a great coffee table-style books for those who admire original props, costumes, and other assets.
The cover on this second catalog is greatly improved all around. A more vibrant and stylistic cover design, thick card stock, and more durable (and less prone to marks/scuffs).
The interior pages also appear to exhibit less bleed through of the images from the reverse side, so that is an improvement on overall appearance.
The first book is 320 pages and the second is 380 pages.
